BLACKPINK’s Spotify Hacked Amid Rising Controversies at YG Entertainment

In a troubling development for K-pop fans, BLACKPINK’s official Spotify profile has come under suspicion of being hacked. Visitors to the group’s page were surprised to see the usual BLACKPINK profile picture momentarily appear before being replaced with an image of KISS OF LIFE—a different girl group. Notably, the image used was the same one shared publicly after KISS OF LIFE’s member Julie faced backlash over cultural appropriation during her recent birthday celebration.

Adding to the confusion, BLACKPINK’s account still features an old comeback photo in the description section, but the accompanying text appears to reference a recent scandal involving resurfaced pre-debut footage. The videos in question show three members—Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa—allegedly using the N-word, leading to significant public outcry and calls for accountability.

However, this incident isn’t isolated to BLACKPINK alone. Fans have noticed similar issues across solo profiles of the BLACKPINK members as well as other artists under YG Entertainment, including TREASURE and BABYMONSTER. This wider breach has prompted speculation that the incident may be tied to the agency itself—possibly a result of a larger internal leak that recently exposed private data and video clips from BLACKPINK’s archives.

Despite the escalating concern, YG Entertainment has remained silent, failing to release any official statement or outline protective measures for their artists. Frustrated fans have flooded social media demanding transparency and stronger cybersecurity from the company.

One BLINK wrote, “This is getting serious. First, leaked files—and now their Spotify accounts are being manipulated. YG needs to step up and take legal action instead of staying silent.”

Another pointed specifically to Rosé, saying, “Her Spotify looks completely altered. We want her page restored and safeguarded properly.”

Others criticized YG’s management capabilities, questioning whether the agency is equipped to handle the global stature of a group like BLACKPINK. “It feels like the company wasn’t prepared for this level of international fame,” one fan remarked. “The lack of response is unacceptable.”

The controversy over the resurfaced pre-debut videos has only deepened the crisis. Reportedly leaked via Discord by a former YG staff member, the clips quickly went viral, reigniting discussions about cultural sensitivity in K-pop and casting scrutiny on the label’s training methods.

As fans continue to demand action, the ball is now in YG Entertainment’s court to respond and take meaningful steps to protect their artists and restore public trust.
