Police have arrested two men involved in snatching a gold chain from a woman in Kathmandu’s Machhapokhari area.
The arrested individuals are:
- Kaushal Basnet (21), resident of Tarkeshwar Municipality–8, Jorangkhu
- Milan Tamang (26), also from the same area
According to SP and spokesperson Apil Raj Bohora from Kathmandu District Police, the duo snatched a gold chain from a woman on Saturday evening around 6:30 PM. The chain weighed 2 tolas and 25 laas, which is worth approximately Rs 4.38 lakh as per current market value.
Police launched an immediate search and arrested both suspects from the Machhapokhari area the same night at around 12:32 AM.
A police team from the Balaju Police Circle made the arrest and recovered the stolen chain along with two mobile phones from the suspects.
