A two-and-a-half-year-old girl has died after drowning in a pond in Dadeldhura.
According to the police, Riya Mali, the two-year-and-five-month-old daughter of Ganesh Mali from Ganyapdhura Rural Municipality-2, Kalapani, drowned in an irrigation pond near her house on Tuesday afternoon.
She was rescued from an injured state and taken to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment, but doctors declared her dead upon examination. Her body is currently kept at the hospital for a post-mortem, the police said.
