Shyam Tandon has been charged with criminal offense for allegedly using fake academic certificates to study MBBS in Bangladesh.
The Kathmandu District Government Attorney’s Office has filed a case against him under Section 276 of the Muluki Criminal Code 2074, demanding up to 7 years in prison and a fine of Rs. 70,000.
How did he use fake documents?
- Shyam Tandon, 36, a resident of Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality–3, Rupandehi, reportedly submitted fake certificates claiming he had passed Class 12 from National Examination Board (NEB).
- Based on these documents, he enrolled in an MBBS program in Bangladesh.
- The NEB later confirmed that the certificates were not registered under his name and had been forged.
Tandon is now facing legal proceedings, and the authorities are taking this case as a serious breach of academic and legal integrity.
