A dead body was discovered near the Dhobikhola Corridor in Sukedhara, Kathmandu, covered in garbage. Police suspect that the body was deliberately hidden inside an old toilet and covered with trash to keep it out of sight.
The body was identified as 50-year-old Adwir Rai from Mane Bhanjyang-6, Okhaldhunga. His body was found on Wednesday night near the corridor. After receiving information, a police team led by DSP Niranjan Thapa from Maharajgunj Police Circle reached the scene and removed the garbage to recover the body.
According to an investigating officer, the victim had deep injuries on his head, forehead, and nose, likely caused by a sharp weapon. The body was then sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajgunj, for a post-mortem examination.
Police are now analyzing CCTV footage from the area and using other technical methods for further investigation. Due to the suspicious nature of the case, the Valley Crime Investigation Office has also started its probe.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP Ramesh Basnet) stated that the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report, which will provide more details about the case.
