A fire broke out at the stalls of the Second Grand Salyan Mahotsab. The fire occurred at the festival venue in Shrinagar, Town Planning, Sharda Municipality-1, where the National Folk and Dohori Song Association of Salyan organized the event 8 days ago.
The fire started around 11 PM on Saturday, and 80 stalls were damaged, according to SSP Shiva Kumar Shrestha, spokesperson for the Karnali Province Police Office in Surkhet.
The fire destroyed the stalls and all the items for sale, with damages exceeding 3 million rupees. The festival was also severely impacted by the fire. Residents, business owners, festival organizers, and security personnel worked together for three hours to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
