Fire Destroys Tin Shed in Kathmandu

A fire broke out on Saturday night at a tin shed near the Hasanatar border in Syuchatar, Nagarjun Municipality-7, Kathmandu.

The shed, where Krishna Hari Shrestha’s family lived, was completely destroyed. However, no one was injured, according to SP Apil Bohara, the spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police. The fire started at 9:40 PM and was brought under control within an hour.

Police reported that the fire damaged wooden furniture, cupboards, sofas, beds, clothes, blankets, carpets, and kitchen utensils. The tin and iron sheets of the shed were also destroyed. The estimated loss is around NPR 1.5 million.

Firefighters, police, and residents worked together to control the fire using fire trucks and water tankers.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, and further investigation is ongoing.
