Last night, a fire broke out in a sheep shed, killing 55 sheep belonging to Kale Rana of Tilagufa-10.
According to District Police Chief DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat, the fire started when the cooking fire spread to the shed with a thatched roof in Tilagufa-10, Seri Lek, burning all the sheep inside. He stated, “The strong wind also caused significant damage.”
A three-member team, led by Assistant Police Inspector Ganesh Bahadur Karki from the temporary police post in Chilkaya, documented the deaths of the 55 sheep.
Rana, who has been engaged in sheep farming for years, had taken his sheep to Seri Lek for grazing last Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December).
Tilagufa Municipality Chief Shankar Prasad Upadhyay stated that efforts would be made to compensate farmer Rana for his losses.
