In the past month, six people have died due to fires in various parts of the country.
The deceased include one man, four women, and one child. Additionally, 30 men, 26 women, six boys, and three girls have been injured in these fire incidents.
According to Nepal Police spokesperson Deputy Inspector General Dinesh Kumar Acharya, there have been 501 fire incidents across the country in the past month.
The fires have damaged 87 houses and 57 sheds. A total of 146 livestock have perished, and 38 families have been displaced. The estimated financial loss due to the fires is around NPR 4.48 billion. A total of 3,614 police personnel were deployed to control the fires in various locations.
Koshi Province recorded the highest number of fire incidents, with 135 cases. Madhesh Province reported 105 incidents, Bagmati Province 44, Kathmandu Valley 49, Gandaki Province 33, Lumbini Province 64, Karnali Province 30, and Sudurpashchim Province 41, according to spokesperson Acharya.
Due to low rainfall and dry weather, fire incidents are occurring in different parts of the country. As the risk of fires is expected to increase, the Ministry of Home Affairs has urged everyone to remain cautious.
