A young man was killed in Naya Pati, Ward-2 of Gokarneshwor Municipality. Police have arrested five people in connection with the murder.
The arrested individuals are:
- Prabin Tamang (29) from Sunapati Rural Municipality-3, Ramechhap
- Sameer Waiba Tamang (23) from Bagmati Rural Municipality-3, Sarlahi
- Abhishek Waiba Tamang (26) from the same area
- Dipendra Bhujel (29) from Indrawati Rural Municipality-6, Sindhupalchok
- Anurag Tamang (28) from Chaurideurali Rural Municipality-7, Kavre
They were arrested by a police team from the Boudha Police Circle.
They are accused of killing 37-year-old Balindra Prakash Rai around 9 PM on Baisakh 30. The group allegedly attacked him while he was sitting at a grocery shop in Naya Pati. He was seriously injured in the attack and died during treatment, according to Kathmandu District Police spokesperson SP Apilraj Bohora.
Police have begun an investigation against the suspects on charges of homicide.
