A fire that started at Sangrila Ply Industry at 2 AM last night is still not under control. The industry, located in Khaira, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-9 of Dang, has been burning for hours.
According to Dang’s Chief District Officer, Krishna Prasad Lamsal, seven fire trucks are currently trying to put out the fire.
Fire trucks from Ghorahi, Tulsipur, and Lamahi in Dang, as well as Bansgadhi in Bardiya, Kohalpur in Banke, Shivaraj in Kapilvastu, and one from Rupandehi, have been brought in to help. Lamsal said the fire is difficult to control because the factory contains a lot of flammable materials used for making plywood. However, he assured that nearby settlements are not at risk.
The fire is estimated to have caused losses worth millions, but the exact details are not yet available. The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and locals are working together to bring the fire under control.
