Heat to Decrease from Monday

The heat that has been strongly felt for the past few days is expected to decrease starting Monday.

Meteorologists say that starting this afternoon, there is a chance of rain with thunder in some places. Because of this, temperatures will start to fall from Monday, and the heat will become less intense.

According to Dr. Binod Pokharel, an associate professor and meteorologist at Tribhuvan University’s Central Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rain with thunder is likely to begin this afternoon.

He said that the rain will cause temperatures to drop from Monday, and there is a chance of rain almost every day, which will gradually reduce the heat.

“There is a good chance of rain tomorrow afternoon in Kathmandu and the eastern half of Nepal. The temperature will drop significantly, and the heat will decrease,” he explained.

In recent days, temperatures in the Terai districts of Lumbini Province had crossed 40 degrees Celsius, leading to warnings about hot winds. Other Terai districts in different provinces also recorded temperatures above 38 degrees Celsius.
