Hero Cop Chandrika Deuba Helps Woman Give Birth on the Street – Gets Honored

A police constable in Kailali, Chandrika Deuba, has been honored for helping a young woman give birth right on the street.

On Tuesday morning, 24-year-old Chandra Acharya, who was living in a rented room in Godawari Municipality-1, suddenly went into labor while walking on the road. She gave birth to a baby boy with the help of Constable Deuba, who arrived just in time.

After the successful delivery, the District Police Office, Kailali, awarded Deuba with a letter of appreciation and recorded the recognition officially. SP Balanar Singh Rana presented the honor, praising her for her bravery and compassion.

Police said they received a call about a sick woman on the roadside. A team from Khairana Police Post, including Deuba, reached the spot. Acharya was already in labor and delivered her child on the street before being taken safely to the hospital.

The moment was captured on video, which soon went viral on social media, earning Deuba praise from across the country.

Later, health workers from Padma Hospital and local representatives also reached the site to support the mother and baby. Acharya’s husband is currently working in India. Originally from Bheriganga-8, Surkhet, she had eloped with Dambar Joshi from Bajhang and was living in Attariya.

This act of courage and kindness shows how police officers like Chandrika Deuba go beyond their duty to protect and serve, even in the most unexpected situations.
