The Nepal Basketball Association (NEBA) has officially unveiled the match schedule for the upcoming Himalayan Java Basketball League (HJBL) 2025. The tournament will kick off on Baisakh 20 (May 2, 2025) and will run for six weeks, featuring six competitive teams.
Himalayan Java Basketball: Opening Day Fixtures
The opening day, Saturday, will see two exciting matchups:
- Kirtipur Basketball Club vs Samakhusi Youth Club
- Hounds Academy vs Royals
On Baisakh 21 (Sunday), Times Basketball Club will take on Golden Gate International College.
Participating Teams and Format
The six participating teams are:
- Times Basketball Club
- Hounds Academy
- GoldenGate International College
- Royals
- Kirtipur Basketball Club
- Samakhusi Youth Club
The league will follow a double round-robin format, where each team plays every other team twice. A total of 30 league matches will be played, followed by a two-game final between the top two teams.
Match Days and Timings
Originally planned for weekends only, the organizers have added Tuesdays and Wednesdays due to the monsoon season and extended match duration.
- On two-match days, games will start at 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
- On single-match days, the game will begin at 7:00 PM.
All matches will take place at the outdoor court of the National Sports Council, Tripureshwar.
