A video of Dr. Babi Singh Yadav, a central leader of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, dancing and firing a pistol has gone viral on social media.
The video, which surfaced on Wednesday, shows Yadav dancing with several others. At one point, she fires a round into the air, and smoke can be seen coming from the pistol. After that, a young man is seen taking the pistol from her.
After the video went viral, police started an investigation. Saptari District Police Chief SP Dhakendra Khatiwada said they are looking into the matter. He added that it’s still unclear when and where the video was taken.
Following the video’s release, police have called Yadav for questioning. “We have already asked her to come. She has said she will. After that, we’ll know the truth,” said SP Khatiwada.
Yadav is from Bode Barsain Municipality-5 in Saptari and is the daughter of Mrigendra Singh Yadav, a National Assembly member and Vice President of JSP Nepal.
