One of the most popular features recently is the digital driving license, which is especially useful for Nepali motorcyclists. Challenges and Improvements
Some users have reported issues with paying fines for traffic violations using the Nagarik App. However, the app has proven to be an effective tool for traffic police to verify whether someone holds a valid driving license.
Another useful feature is the ability to scan a QR code provided by a bank when opening an account. This allows the bank to access your details quickly and verify your information without delays.
Instant Access to PAN Number and Other Services
Once the process is completed, the Nagarik App can instantly generate your PAN number. When needed, you can open the app and navigate to the PAN card option, where you can easily copy your number for use.
The app also provides access to important documents like your Singhdurbar pass, local police station information, police reports, and labor approval cards. Additionally, you can view your citizenship, national identity card, and voter ID directly through the app.
Future Updates and Improvements
The IT department is working on adding more features to the app, such as the ability to apply for labor permits directly through the platform. While the system is ready, collaboration with the Ministry of Labor is still required to implement this feature.
Offline Access and Data-Free Usage
For those without internet access, the app allows you to view documents offline through the document section in the app’s bottom bar, as long as the documents were previously linked. If you’re unable to access the documents or if data usage is required, don’t worry! The Nagarik App has partnered with Nepal Telecom and Ncell to allow the app to function without the need for an internet connection.
Network and Data Usage Tips
If you’re using Ncell’s always-on service, your balance will not be deducted. However, if you’re using Nepal Telecom, you may need to turn off background data to use the app without any charges.
