Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Nepal Police, Deepak Thapa, has stated that expired tear gas has not been used.
Responding to questions raised by lawmakers during the meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee on Friday, IGP Thapa clarified that expired tear gas was not used.
“I am not aware of whether it was expired or not,” Thapa replied when Committee Chairperson Ram Hari Khatiwada asked about reports of expired tear gas being used. “I don’t know how this issue of expired tear gas came up. We have not used expired tear gas. Expired tear gas is disposed of. Only the stock we currently have has been used.”
