Illegal Goods Worth Over 750,000 Rupees Seized in Kailali and Kanchanpur


Authorities have seized illegal goods worth over NPR 750,000 in Kailali and Kanchanpur. Police confiscated goods worth more than NPR 500,000 in Kailali and over NPR 200,000 in Kanchanpur.

On Thursday, police seized goods valued at NPR 523,970 from different locations in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Godawari Municipality, and Tikapur Municipality in Kailali. The confiscated items were smuggled from India, bypassing customs clearance.

The seized goods were found near the Traffic Resort and Mayametro Hospital in Dhangadhi-3, Trivenighat in Dhangadhi-9, Hanuman Temple and Bandevi Temple in Godawari-4, and Khakraula in Tikapur-9.

The illegal items included children’s toys, napkins, cakes, various types of clothing, spare parts for JCB and Skyvator machines, tractor parts, kitchen utensils, mobile covers, charging pins, displays, torch lights, broiler chickens, and dried fish (Sidra).

The goods were seized by a police patrol team from the District Police Office, Kailali, and its subordinate units. The confiscated items have been handed over to the customs office for further action.

Similarly, in Kanchanpur, police seized illegal goods worth NPR 230,800 on Thursday from various locations. The items were confiscated from Bhujela in Bhimdatta-11, Maina in Belauri-5, and Jamunaghadi in Dodhara Chandani-3.

The seized goods included onions, pickles, seeds, different types of clothing, and hardware items. The District Police Office confirmed that the confiscated goods have been submitted to the customs office for necessary procedures.
