Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is reuniting with Netflix after the success of Amar Singh Chamkila, this time for a new series titled O Saathi Re. The show will feature a stellar cast including Aditi Rao Hydari, Avinash Tiwary, and Arjun Rampal.
In an official announcement, the makers described the series as “an ode to the vintage feeling of love in contemporary times,” teasing the star-studded ensemble. The caption further revealed that the series is directed by Arif Ali, Imtiaz Ali’s brother, with a release date and first look yet to be revealed.
The show will be helmed by Arif Ali, and Imtiaz expressed his excitement about the project in a conversation with Variety. He shared, “‘O Saathi Re’ surprised me at every step of its development. It’s a modern story with a vintage heart, a fairy tale amidst the chaos of city life. I feel both relieved and excited that Arif is directing a phenomenal cast with Avinash, Aditi, and Arjun, and it’s our growing partnership with Netflix that has allowed us to explore this uniquely enchanting world.”
Imtiaz has previously collaborated with Aditi on Rockstar and with Avinash in Laila Majnu, but this will mark his first project with Arjun.
