Jaideep Ahlawat recently voiced his opinion on nepotism and the challenges faced by star kids in Bollywood. While many argue that the industry is unwelcoming to outsiders, he pointed out that actors like Alia Bhatt also encounter their own difficulties. He praised the Raazi actress for her talent and hard work, stating that she shouldn’t be judged merely for being born into a film family.
In a conversation with ANI, the Paatal Lok star called Alia a phenomenal actress and questioned the effect of constantly being labeled a “nepo kid.”
He pondered how she must feel reading such comments regularly. Emphasizing that it isn’t her fault for being Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter, he said, “Everyone faces their own struggles. Alia is immensely talented. Imagine coming across the same ‘nepo kid’ remarks every day—how unsettling must that be? Is it her fault she was born into a filmmaker’s family? A child exposed to cinema from a young age will naturally develop an understanding of it.”
Drawing an analogy, he added, “It’s like a doctor’s child being constantly reminded that they are expected to pursue medicine. Wouldn’t that be frustrating? They shouldn’t be blamed for their background.”
Reflecting on their time working together in Raazi, Ahlawat admired Alia’s dedication and professionalism. “She arrives on set well-prepared. Her commitment was evident in Raazi. Working with her, it was clear how much effort she put into her role,” he said.
Currently, Jaideep Ahlawat is garnering praise for his performance in Paatal Lok season 2, which premiered on January 17. He has played impactful roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Raazi, and Maharaj.
Up next, he will be seen in the third season of Family Man, the hit series starring Manoj Bajpayee and created by Raj & DK.
