A newly constructed classroom building at Prabhat Kiran Secondary School was officially handed over today, marking a significant step in enhancing the educational infrastructure in the district.
The building was constructed under the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects, a program supported by the Government of Japan. This initiative is part of a broader effort to create a better learning environment and encourage student attendance in Gorkha. Along with the construction of school facilities, the project also includes teacher training and initiatives to establish child-friendly schools, according to a statement from the Embassy of Japan in Nepal.
During the ceremony, TAMURA Takahiro, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of Japan to Nepal, emphasized the importance of maintaining the new infrastructure and ensuring the continuity of training programs. He expressed optimism that the upgraded facilities would contribute to a more engaging and supportive educational environment for students.
The initiative reflects Japan’s ongoing commitment to Nepal’s education sector, aiming to strengthen learning opportunities for children in rural areas through sustainable development projects.
