Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith Finalize Divorce, But Clash Over Daughter’s Schooling

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have officially ended their marriage on amicable terms, but new legal filings reveal ongoing disagreements surrounding their daughter Juno’s education.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the former couple reached a temporary custody arrangement through mediation. However, Turner-Smith has now asked the court to intervene in a school-related conflict. The British actress wants to move Juno to a different elementary school next year, citing careful planning and communication with Jackson about the proposed change. She claims the new school is located near his home and was selected with his convenience in mind. Despite this, Jackson has not consented to the transfer.

In addition to the custody issue, Turner-Smith is requesting that Jackson cover $75,000 in legal fees related to the dispute. Their finalized divorce settlement already requires Jackson to pay $2,787 a month in child support, with no obligation for spousal support.

The couple’s relationship began in 2018 after they met at Usher’s birthday party and quickly became inseparable. By early 2019, they were seen vacationing together in Nicaragua, sparking engagement rumors. Later that year, the pair secretly married in December. Turner-Smith publicly revealed her pregnancy in 2020, confirming they were expecting a daughter.

She celebrated the moment on social media with a video of her baby bump, playfully writing, “Can you see her dancing in there? Every time I try to record, she stops.”

In 2023, Turner-Smith filed for divorce. Not long after, Jackson was spotted with actress Lupita Nyong’o, confirming a new chapter in his personal life.

Despite finalizing their split, the former couple’s co-parenting journey appears to be facing some early hurdles — with their daughter’s schooling now at the center of their post-divorce negotiations.
