Both sections of the Kaligandaki Corridor in Gulmi have resumed one-way operation after being blocked by landslides. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru from the District Police Office, the road near Gargare (Ward No. 1) and Barlawa (Ward No. 6) in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality was obstructed by large rocks and debris falling from above early Sunday morning. These areas are prone to frequent landslides, causing regular road blockages and travel difficulties for passengers and locals alike.
To clear the road, a team from the Purti Ghat Police Post coordinated with the local municipality and construction contractors. As a result of their joint efforts, the blocked sections have now been reopened for one-way traffic.
The Kaligandaki Corridor often faces disruptions due to both wet and dry landslides—mudslides during rainfall and dry rockfalls even in dry weather—making it a recurring problem for commuters in the region.
