Kanye West is once again making waves in the headlines, this time with a claim that Taylor Swift is one of the reasons he hasn’t been asked to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. The controversial rapper shared his thoughts on the matter via a now-deleted tweet on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this week, stating that a “Taylor Swift movement” was one of the factors preventing him from headlining the iconic event.
West tweeted, “I never was allowed to do the Super Bowl because of three moments: George Bush don’t care about Black people, the Taylor Swift movement moment, and wearing a MAGA hat,” referencing his past controversies including his support for former President Donald Trump.
For those familiar with West and Swift’s long-running feud, this claim is hardly a surprise. The tension between the two dates back to 2009 when West interrupted Swift’s MTV VMA acceptance speech to declare that Beyoncé deserved the award instead. The rift continued in 2016 when West mentioned Swift in his song Famous, leading to a public dispute over whether Swift had given her consent for the lyrics.
In addition to his ongoing conflict with Swift, West has been making headlines for other personal matters. A recent report from the Daily Mail revealed that almost all of West’s team members have parted ways with him, including his longtime manager, John Monopoly, following issues in his marriage to Bianca Censori. According to sources, West has been staying at a hotel in Japan, while Censori is believed to have stayed behind, despite their complicated relationship.
An insider shared that most of West’s staff have either been fired or left voluntarily due to his behavior, further highlighting the strain in his personal and professional life. In February, talent agent Daniel McCartney confirmed his departure from West’s team, citing “harmful and hateful remarks” as the reason for ending their working relationship.
