Kapilvastu District Court Officials Convicted for Taking Bribe

Kapilvastu District Court’s Tehsildar Santosh Kumar Mishra and computer operator Vikas Pandey have been found guilty of taking a bribe from a service seeker. The Special Court convicted them after reviewing the evidence.

The court sentenced Mishra to two months in prison and Pandey to one month in prison for accepting NPR 20,000 in bribe. The verdict was given by a bench led by Chairperson Tek Narayan Kunwar and member Ram Bahadur Thapa.

According to the court, the accused were caught red-handed while taking the bribe. The investigation also included video and audio proof of them demanding money. Along with the jail sentence, they have been fined NPR 10,000 each.

Mishra was found guilty of asking for a bribe to cancel a bond document related to a court decision. During this process, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested both Mishra and Pandey with the bribe money in their possession.
