Former Texas Tech basketball player Kevin Overton is joining Auburn. This will be his third college team in three seasons.
Overton Confirms His Move on Social Media
Kevin Overton shared a post on Instagram confirming a report by On3.com. The post showed an image of him transferring from Texas Tech to Auburn.
Overton’s Performance at Texas Tech
At Texas Tech, Overton played in 36 games but started only once. He averaged 7.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. He also shot 33.1 percent from the three-point line. Texas Tech made it to the Elite Eight before losing to the team that won the championship, Florida.
His First Season Was at Drake
Before joining Texas Tech, Overton played his first college season at Drake University. There, he started in all 35 games and averaged 11.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
Auburn Welcomes Overton Amid Other Changes
Auburn accepted Overton’s commitment on the same day forward Chad Baker-Mazara entered the transfer portal. Auburn star Johni Broome, an All-American, has also finished his college eligibility and is heading to the NBA.
