A 25-year-old man has been arrested for killing his father and a neighbor with a spade in Sunnwal Municipality-2, West Nawalparasi.
According to police, Khemraj Tharu attacked his 50-year-old father Jayaram Tharu with a spade during a domestic dispute. When 70-year-old neighbor Buddhunath Dharkir tried to intervene, Khemraj attacked and killed him as well.
Drug Addiction Link Revealed
Deputy Superintendent of Police Biradatta Pant, spokesperson for the District Police Office, West Nawalparasi, said the suspect had a history of drug abuse and had recently returned home from a rehabilitation center.
After attacking his father, Khemraj’s mother called for help, prompting the neighbor to intervene — only to be killed too. Following the murders, Khemraj was seen roaming the village with the spade, causing panic, before being arrested by police.
