A 62-year-old man from Morang’s Miklajung Rural Municipality-6, Magar Tol, has died after being bitten by a stray dog in Belbari Municipality-10, Bhaunne.
The victim, identified as Krishna Bahadur Magar, also known as Gaude, was attacked by the dog around 9 AM on Thursday, according to locals. The dog bit him on his right calf, causing him to collapse on the road. Nearby residents rescued him and rushed him to Belbari Municipal Hospital.
Due to the severity of his condition, Magar was referred to Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar. However, Belbari-10 Ward Chairman Ganga Bahadur Yakkha stated that doctors at Koshi Hospital declared him dead upon arrival.
Doctors confirmed that excessive bleeding from the dog bite led to his death.
