Meta’s Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Bosworth, had a blunt message for employees frustrated with the company’s recent policy changes—if they disagree, they are free to leave, according to a report by Business Insider.
The statement came in response to an internal chat where an employee criticized Meta for cutting DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs and allegedly suppressing internal dissent. Bosworth pushed back, stating that anyone leaking company information over policy disagreements should consider working elsewhere. When another employee argued that leaks weren’t the issue and that workers felt disrespected, Bosworth doubled down, saying, “You should quit if you feel that way, I mean it.”
This exchange highlights the growing internal tension at Meta as the company rolls out significant policy shifts, including reducing DEI initiatives and loosening content moderation rules. The situation is further complicated by ongoing layoffs, which Meta has controversially framed as targeting “low performers.” The company has not yet issued a public response to the reported conversation.
