Nepal Police Club proved their dominance once again by winning the Sher Bahadur Deuba Cup Karate Championship. With an impressive 9 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals, they proudly secured the team championship title.

APF and Army Follow Behind
Armed Police Force (APF) finished second in the Sher Bahadur Deuba Cup, winning 4 golds, 6 silvers, and 3 bronzes. Tribhuvan Army Club came third, securing 3 golds, 6 silvers, and 2 bronzes. Bagmati, Koshi, and Madhesh Provinces also shined, winning one gold medal each, making the Sher Bahadur Deuba Cup an exciting and competitive event.
Standout Performances in the Sher Bahadur Deuba Cup
Star athlete Arika Gurung from Nepal Police Club captured the spotlight at the Sher Bahadur Deuba Cup, winning gold in the women’s 68kg+ category by defeating Lumibini’s Diya Thapa with a dominant 9-0 score. Sabina Shrestha of Police also struck gold in the women’s 55kg category, beating Sonu Shrestha 16-8 in the final. Meanwhile, Bagmati Province’s Anjali Maharjan won the women’s 55kg gold by defeating Priyanka Shahi 9-3.
On the men’s side, Rajib Pudasaini from Police Club claimed gold in the under-75kg category by beating Army’s Sibbu Od. In the 50kg category, Rakesh Manandhar of Madhesh Province secured gold against Koshi’s Dipesh Rai.
Rewards for the Winners
For their outstanding victory at the Sher Bahadur Deuba Cup, Nepal Police Club earned a cash prize of NPR 2 lakh. APF took home NPR 1 lakh, while Tribhuvan Army Club received NPR 50,000.
About the Event
Organized by Yala Karate Shito-Ryu Do and sponsored by the Provincial Sports Development Council of Bagmati Province, the three-day Sher Bahadur Deuba Cup featured intense matches. A total of 161 players (86 men and 75 women) participated across 19 events – 10 for men and 9 for women.
