Nepal to Face Australia in U 19 Womens World Cup

Nepal will play against Australia in their third match of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 on Wednesday.

The match between Nepal and Australia will take place at the UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia, starting at 12:15 PM Nepali time. Puja Mahato will captain Nepal, while Lucy Hamilton will lead Australia.

Nepal has faced defeats in both of their previous matches, losing to Bangladesh in the first game and Scotland in the second. To secure a spot in the Super Six, Nepal must win this match. Meanwhile, Australia has already qualified for the Super Six.

Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 5 wickets and narrowly missed a win against Scotland, losing by just 1 wicket. On the other hand, Australia defeated Scotland by 9 wickets and Bangladesh by 2 wickets.

This will be the first time Nepal faces Australia in women’s cricket. Australia, which reached the semifinals in the previous World Cup, is considered a strong team. Five players from their previous World Cup squad are part of the current team.

If Bangladesh defeats Scotland in the first match today and Nepal manages to defeat Australia by a small margin, Nepal will advance to the Super Six. However, if Scotland beats Bangladesh, Nepal must beat Australia by a margin that ensures a better net run rate than Bangladesh.

If Nepal loses to Australia, they will be eliminated from the tournament.
