Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya set Sydney ablaze with an electrifying performance at the iconic Hordern Pavilion. With a packed audience of over 5,500 fans, the concert on Saturday night was nothing short of spectacular.
A Night to Remember
Tickets for the show had already sold out three weeks in advance, and the venue was overflowing with excitement long before the performance began. The crowd erupted in cheers as the band took the stage, kicking off the night with their beloved hit “Koshi Ko Pani,” a song inspired by their travels in Eastern Nepal.

For two straight hours, the audience danced and sang along, creating an electric atmosphere. The concert saw a mix of attendees—from families to young couples, all lost in the magic of Nepathya’s timeless melodies. One such fan, Sarita Dahal, who had first attended a Nepathya concert in Kathmandu nearly three decades ago, shared her excitement at experiencing the band again, this time with her son and daughter-in-law in Sydney.
A Growing Legacy in Sydney
This was Nepathya’s second performance at the Hordern Pavilion, following previous shows at Sydney’s Luna Park. The increasing demand for their concerts led to the shift to a larger venue. When the tickets for Saturday’s show sold out early, an additional show was scheduled for Sunday at the same venue.
International Fans and a Heartfelt Message
Beyond their loyal Nepali fanbase, the concert also saw international attendees. Australian resident Jacinta, who has visited Nepal three times, drove five hours with her children to experience Nepathya live. Her son Hattrick, an audio engineer who previously worked on Nepathya’s show in Canberra, was deeply impressed by the band’s music and encouraged his mother not to miss the Sydney concert.
Lead vocalist Amrit Gurung took a moment during the show to share a heartfelt message, encouraging Nepali families to preserve their language and culture and to contribute, even in small ways, to children’s education in Nepal.
The Show Must Go On!
With Sydney proving to be a second home for the band, the overwhelming response has inspired Nepathya’s management team, Nepalaya, to plan even bigger events in the future.
Sydney-based organizer Pradeep Pathak expressed gratitude for the show’s success and anticipated an equally enthusiastic turnout for Sunday’s additional concert.
After wrapping up their Sydney tour, Nepathya is set to return to Nepal, leaving behind yet another unforgettable musical memory for their fans down under.
