The stock market fell below 2,700 points on Tuesday. The NEPSE index dropped by 7.66 points compared to the previous day, closing at 2,697 points.
As the market declined, the total trading amount also decreased. On the previous day, the total transactions were worth NPR 5.40 billion, but today, it dropped to NPR 4.34 billion.
The share prices of 86 companies increased, while 152 companies saw a decline, and 5 remained unchanged. Except for one sector, all other sector indices fell. The “Others” sector increased by 0.11%.
The decline in other sectors remained below 1%. The percentage decrease in various sectors was:
- Banking: 0.14%
- Development Bank: 0.42%
- Finance: 0.17%
- Hotels & Tourism: 0.36%
- Hydropower: 0.17%
- Investment: 0.42%
- Life Insurance: 0.70%
- Manufacturing: 0.23%
- Microfinance: 0.31%
- Trading: 0.66%
- Non-life Insurance: 0.54%
Among the gainers, Mithila Laghubitta and Himalayan Power Partner increased by 9.9%. Upper Solu Hydro Electric rose by 7.7%, Bhugol Energy by 7.2%, and Panchthar Power by 4.1%.
On the other hand, Samudayik Laghubitta’s share price dropped by 8.2%, while Rapti Hydro fell by 7.7%.
Based on trading volume, the top companies were Himalayan Reinsurance, Ghalemdi Hydropower, Nepal Reinsurance, Life Insurance Corporation, and Narayani Development Bank.
