Disney is releasing the first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third movie in the Avatar series. But if you want to see it, you’ll have to go to the theater. The trailer will play only with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, starting this weekend.
New enemy tribe revealed: the Mangkwan
This movie will introduce a new Na’vi tribe called the Mangkwan, also known as the Ash People. They are not friendly and have turned away from Eywa, the goddess that other Na’vi tribes follow.

Disney shared a teaser poster showing a close-up of Varang, the leader of the Ash People. The first Avatar poster showed Neytiri, the second one had her daughter Kiri, and now Varang takes the spotlight in Fire and Ash.
New direction for the Avatar storyline
For the first time in the Avatar series, the main fight may not be between Na’vi and humans. Instead, the new movie could show a war between different Na’vi tribes. Some fans think the Ash People might even work with the humans’ RDA group against Jake Sully and his family — but that’s not confirmed yet.
Fire and Ash could break box office records
Avatar: Fire and Ash is expected to be the biggest movie of 2025. If it earns more than $2 billion worldwide, Avatar will join Avengers as the only franchise with three movies that made that much money.
