Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has shared exciting news about the next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He said the movie will show a more grounded, street-level side of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Plus, the darker Marvel character Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, will play an important part in the film.
New down-to-earth Spider-Man
Feige explained that after the events of No Way Home, Peter Parker is now on his own. “For the first time, we see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man being by himself, focusing on saving his city and handling everyday crimes, not big world-ending problems,” Feige said. This means the movie will be different from the earlier films that had multiverse and big threats. Now, Spider-Man will deal with smaller, more realistic dangers in the city.
The Punisher joins the story
Feige also confirmed that The Punisher will appear in the movie. He said, “The Punisher first appeared in Spider-Man comics, so it makes sense to have him in this story.” The director, Destin Daniel Cretton, is working hard to bring famous comic book scenes to life in the film.
More about Brand New Day
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on July 31, 2026. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is directing this movie. The title comes from a famous 2008 Spider-Man comic where Peter Parker makes a deal that changes his life completely.
Feige didn’t reveal many plot details, but with classic comic scenes and The Punisher’s appearance, this movie might be one of the most faithful to the comics and focus a lot on characters.
