Continuous rainfall since Sunday night has triggered landslides along the Aryabhanjyang–Jabgadi–Rampur road section of Siddhartha Highway, blocking traffic from early Monday morning.
A major landslide occurred near Budhikot in Aryabhanjyang, with other slides reported in Rigaira (Humindanda), Dhowadi (Tahu), Birkot, Seft, and Siluwa areas. Large rocks and mud have made the 49-kilometer stretch impassable.
This road connects several rural municipalities like Mathagadhi, Purba Khola, Rambha, Nisdi, and parts of Rampur Municipality. Dozens of villages rely on this route for transport.
Many of the damaged spots were previously widened using dozers, which may have weakened the slopes. Road Division Office Palpa has sent machinery to begin clearing debris, but travel remains suspended.
