The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) has filed a closure report in the death case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. This was announced on Saturday. Sushant was found dead in his Mumbai home on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34.
CBI Submits Report to Mumbai Court
The CBI has given its final report to a special court in Mumbai. Now, the court will decide if they will accept the report or ask for more investigation. Sushant was found hanging in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. At first, the Bihar Police had filed a case based on a complaint by Sushant’s father, K.K. Singh, who said someone might have pushed his son towards suicide.
Doctors Say No Signs of Poison or Strangling
A team of doctors from AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) confirmed there was no poisoning or strangling involved. During the investigation, the CBI questioned many people, including Rhea Chakraborty, who was said to be Sushant’s girlfriend, and also looked into his medical history. The next court hearing is on April 8. If the court accepts the report, the case will be closed.
Rhea Chakraborty Faced Allegations and Arrest
Sushant’s father had also accused Rhea and her family of taking advantage of Sushant’s money. Rhea has denied these claims in interviews. After Sushant’s death, both Rhea and her brother Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drug-related case but were released on bail after some months.
