A security training operation at the Koshi Barrage turned tragic after two personnel from the Armed Police Force (APF) went missing during a disaster response drill on Thursday.
In response, a 35-member search team led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Netra Karki from the Armed Police Force has been deployed to search for the missing individuals.
One Body Recovered
District Police Office spokesperson Yograj Khatri informed RSS that the body of Haredev Rajbanshi, an APF constable from Jhapa, was recovered a short while ago near the Saptakoshi riverbank.
The search is still ongoing for Suraj Saud, another APF constable from Doti, who remains missing.
The incident occurred during a disaster rescue exercise, highlighting the risks that come with training missions. Authorities have expressed commitment to continue search operations until all missing personnel are accounted for.
