Due to heavy overnight rainfall, the Daunne section of the East-West Highway in West Nawalparasi was blocked after a diversion washed away. However, after five hours of disruption, the Bardaghat–Dumkibas road has reopened for one-way traffic from 6 AM today.
The diversion road near Khursani Khola, constructed just five days ago, was destroyed by floodwaters about 5 km east of Bardaghat Bazaar, halting traffic entirely.
According to Inspector Narayan Thapa of the Nawalparasi West District Police Office, traffic has resumed on a one-way basis as of early morning.
