Police in Sunsari have uncovered a massive stash of marijuana hidden beneath the sand at the banks of the Katan River, located between wards 5 and 6 of Harinagar Rural Municipality. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement found 38 sacks of ganja—totaling 1,120 kilograms—buried under the sand late Tuesday night.
Ongoing Investigation
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yograj Khatri confirmed that the confiscated marijuana has been transported to the Sunsari District Police Office for further investigation. Authorities are continuing to probe into who was behind the large-scale drug concealment.
