Pathibhara Sees Record Pilgrims in Poush, Collects NPR 29.25 Lakh in Offerings

Even during the cold month of Poush, the number of pilgrims visiting the Pathibhara Temple has been significant. According to the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, 6,427 pilgrims visited the temple, contributing a total offering amount of NPR 29.25 lakh.

Executive Director of the Area Development Committee, Prajin Hangwong, stated that this number is higher compared to the previous year.

The committee reported that only around 4,500 pilgrims visited during the same period last year. Historical data shows that fewer pilgrims visit the Pathibhara Temple, located at an altitude of 3,794 meters, during the colder months. The temperature in this area often drops below freezing during this time.

“About eight to ten years ago, the number of pilgrims was nearly zero during the months of Poush and Magh,” said Pathibhara priest Dilli Acharya. “In recent years, the number of pilgrims has increased as people now come to enjoy the snow and seek blessings from the goddess.”

The Pathibhara Area Development Committee claims that around 3 lakh pilgrims visit annually, generating offerings of up to NPR 4 crore.
