Prime Minister Arrives in Surkhet to Inaugurate Humla’s Belibridge, Delayed Due to Bad Weather

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has arrived in Surkhet to inaugurate the recently completed Beilibridge over Chuwa Khola in Humla.

He is accompanied by Minister for Physical Infrastructure Devendra Dahal, Defense Minister Manbir Rai, and former Minister and UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali.

Delay Due to Weather

Currently, the Prime Minister and other ministers are staying at the North-Western Command Headquarters of the Nepal Army in Surkhet. Due to bad weather and ongoing rainfall, flights to Humla have been delayed.

The Nepal Army informed that the Prime Minister will fly to Humla once the weather clears.

Humla Finally Connected to Road Network

After 26 years since the start of the Karnali Corridor project, Simkot, the headquarters of Humla, is now officially connected to Nepal’s national road network.

Delegation Heading to Humla

A team of 18 officials is scheduled to visit Humla, including:

  • Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli
  • Federal Ministers
  • Karnali Province Chief Yagya Raj Joshi
  • Chief Minister Yam Lal Kandel
  • Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel
  • Infrastructure Secretary Keshav Kumar Sharma

The bridge was built by the Nepal Army in just 35 days at a cost of 4 crore rupees.
