Kathmandu police have arrested six people for allegedly killing a young man and burying his body in Makalbari.
The victim, 19-year-old Rahul Sah, was originally from Chakraghatta Rural Municipality-8 in Sarlahi but lived in Gokarneshwar Municipality-5, Bahundhara.
Sah had been missing since March 24. On March 28, his body was found buried behind the RK Motorcycle Workshop in Makalbari.
After receiving a report of a missing person, the police started an investigation. According to Kathmandu District Police Spokesperson SP Apilraj Bohara, initial findings suggest that the murder was linked to financial disputes.
The arrested individuals include:
- Nipu Mandal (22), from Sarlahi, currently living in Gokarneshwar-5
- Vijay Yadav (18), from Sarlahi
- Karan Kumar Mahato (18), from Sarlahi
- Jodhan Mandal (23), from Sarlahi
- Uttam Mandal (45), from Sarlahi
- Sunil Sharma (29), from Bihar, India, currently living in Dakshindhoka
Police have obtained a five-day custody extension from the Kathmandu District Court for further investigation.
