Flights from Chengdu to Pokhara to Begin

To mark the 70th anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations, regular commercial charter flights from Chengdu, China, to Pokhara International Airport will begin.

With Sichuan Province’s support, Sichuan Airlines will operate the first regular commercial charter flight to Pokhara starting Tuesday.

This flight will strengthen air connections between Nepal and China, boost tourism, promote cultural exchange, and enhance business cooperation. The Nepal Tourism Board believes the flight will provide affordable and convenient access for travelers from central and western Nepal and offer Chinese tourists a chance to explore the beautiful city of Pokhara.

The new air link will support Nepal’s “Visit Nepal 2025” campaign and “Pokhara Tourism Year,” helping to increase international tourist arrivals.

The commercial charter flight from Chengdu will be used by a Nepali delegation for the “Pokhara-Chengdu Flight Promotion and China (Sichuan) Sales Mission 2025.” The delegation will participate in meetings with government and private sector representatives in Chengdu, Luzhou, Leshan, and other Chinese cities.

These efforts are expected to promote Nepal as a major tourist destination and strengthen cooperation in tourism between the two countries. The Nepal Tourism Board thanked Sichuan Airlines, the Sichuan Provincial Government, the Pokhara Tourism Council, and all stakeholders for their support in making this initiative successful.

The new flight is expected to enhance cultural exchange and help establish Nepal as an international tourism destination.
