South Korean entertainment giant Mnet has officially unveiled BOYS II PLANET, its latest global K-pop survival project—and among the rising stars to watch is Sun Jia Yang (쑨지아양), a standout trainee from China set to participate in the Planet C division.
The show premieres in two parts: Planet K (Korea group) on July 17 and Planet C (China/global group) on July 18, 2025. Both versions will ultimately lead to the formation of a single, multinational boy group that will debut later this year.
🌟 Who Is Sun Jia Yang?
Born in Chengdu, Sichuan in 2006, Sun Jia Yang rose to fame as a contestant on the Chinese reality series Starlight Boys in 2024. He now trains under JS Entertainment, and fans are already calling him a top contender for the final lineup.
His official reveal as a BOYS II PLANET C contestant was made on June 12, accompanied by a short teaser that showcased his visuals and charisma. On fan forums, he’s already earning praise for his stage presence and emotional delivery.

This latest installment in Mnet’s “Planet” series follows the success of Girls Planet 999 and Boys Planet. Featuring 160 contestants across both divisions (K and C), the show aims to debut a final group of 8 members who will promote globally for five years.
The concept represents Mnet’s most ambitious international K-pop project yet—designed to tap into the massive fanbases in Korea, China, and beyond.
To build excitement, a Signal Song Showcase with all 160 trainees is scheduled for June 12 at 6 PM KST, to be streamed on YouTube and TikTok.
