Despite announcing their breakup nearly four years ago, Rohman Shawl and Sushmita Sen continue to spark curiosity with their frequent public appearances together. In a recent interview with The Times of India, Rohman clarified the nature of their relationship, stating that while they remain close friends, many still believe they are romantically involved. He confirmed that he is currently single.
A Relationship That Evolved
Rohman and Sushmita dated from 2018 to 2021 before publicly announcing their split in December 2021 via Instagram. However, their camaraderie remains intact, with Rohman often seen accompanying Sushmita at events. Speaking about their bond post-breakup, he shared, “If a relationship ended without bitterness and you’ve invested so much in it, why would you run away from it?”
Reflecting on his career, Rohman revealed that his association with Sushmita initially led to misconceptions about his professional choices. “When I met Sushmita, I wasn’t looking to become an actor. However, after my name was linked with hers, many assumed I would quit modeling for acting. As a result, I started losing out on modeling assignments,” he said.
Love and Friendship Remain
While Rohman has embraced his single status, he acknowledged that public perception continues to link him with Sushmita. “Because my name is associated with such a big personality, people assume I’m still in a relationship, so I don’t even get approached (laughs). But I truly believe in love and relationships. I enjoy being in relationships that inspire me.”
Sushmita, too, has spoken about her single status. In an episode of Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast Chapter 2, she candidly shared, “I have no man in my life. I’ve been single for almost two years, since 2021. But I have some amazing friends who are always there for me.”
Though their romantic relationship ended, both Rohman and Sushmita continue to support each other, proving that love can take different forms beyond traditional labels.
