The first-ever Sainamaina Gold Cup 2081 is set to take place from Falgun 19 to Falgun 28 (March 3 to March 12, 2025) at the Sainamaina Football Stadium, Murgiya, Rupandehi. Organized by Murgiya Football Club with the support of Sainamaina Municipality, this tournament promises intense football action.

Tournament Overview

The Sainamaina Gold Cup is the second-largest football tournament in Rupandehi, following the Tilottama Gold Cup. This edition features 10 teams, including two departmental clubs from Nepal and an international club from India.

Fixture Breakdown

All matches will follow a knockout format:

  • March 3 (Falgun 19): Gorkha Boys SC vs. Murgiya FC
  • March 4 (Falgun 20): Pharsatikar YC vs. Nepal Police FC
  • March 5 (Falgun 21): APF FC vs. Abhishek Church FC
  • March 6 (Falgun 22): Hanami BFC vs. Mahabir Club
  • March 7 (Falgun 23): Dzongri Club vs. Winner of Gorkha Boys SC/Murgiya FC
  • March 8 (Falgun 24): Kapilvastu XI vs. Winner of Pharsatikar YC/Nepal Police FC
  • March 9 (Falgun 25): First Semifinal
  • March 10 (Falgun 26): Second Semifinal
  • March 12 (Falgun 28): Grand Final

All matches will kick off at 2:00 PM NST.

Prize Money and Awards

The tournament offers lucrative cash prizes:

  • Winner: NPR 700,000 (7 lakh)
  • Runner-up: NPR 400,000 (4 lakh)
  • Individual Awards: Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and other top performers will receive special prizes.

Sponsorship and Investment

The tournament is primarily sponsored by Sungabha Public School, contributing NPR 700,000 as the main sponsor. Sainamaina Municipality has also provided NPR 500,000 in financial support along with an additional NPR 500,000 for stadium maintenance. The total estimated cost for organizing the event is around NPR 6 million (60 lakh).

Speaking at a press conference, Ward Chairman Ram Prasad Adhikari highlighted the significance of this event, stating that it will not only develop local football but also boost tourism and business in Sainamaina.
