Nepal’s version of the popular business reality show Shark Tank is finally making its debut! The first episode of Shark Tank Nepal will air tonight at 9 PM on Himalaya TV, and viewers can expect a mix of innovation, ambition, and real investment decisions.
First episode features 4 business ideas
The first episode will showcase four different entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas to the panel of “sharks.” Some pitches will receive investment from the sharks, while others will be met with feedback and guidance instead of funding.
A new platform for Nepali entrepreneurs
The show will air every Wednesday and Thursday on Himalaya TV and is set to become a valuable platform for Nepali innovators. It allows local entrepreneurs to present their startups and ideas in hopes of attracting real investments from successful business leaders.
Meet the sharks of season one
Season one features five prominent figures from Nepal’s business world as sharks:
- Hem Raj Dhakal – Co-founder, IME Group
- Cabinet Shrestha – Managing Director, Agni Group
- Saurabh Jyoti – Chairman, Jyoti Group
- Ritu Singh Vaidya – Managing Director, Vaidya’s Organization
- Anand Bagaria – Managing Director, Nimbus Group
1,500+ applications, only 110 made the cut
The first season received over 1,500 applications from aspiring entrepreneurs. After a rigorous two-stage selection process, only 110 businesses were selected to pitch in front of the sharks.
Aman Gupta visits Nepal for promotion
To promote the show, Shark Tank India’s popular shark and co-founder of boAt, Aman Gupta, recently visited Nepal. His presence helped generate excitement around the show and further encouraged young innovators.
