Sigma BF A Minimalist Full-Frame Camera

Sigma has introduced the BF, a 24.6-megapixel full-frame camera designed with a minimalist approach, featuring just four buttons, a dial, and a built-in 230GB SSD instead of a memory card slot.

A Minimalist Design with Advanced Features

Crafted from a single block of aluminum, the Sigma BF maintains a sleek aesthetic with a simplified control layout. It features a 3.2-inch fixed touchscreen, haptic feedback buttons, and a compact status display to keep essential shooting settings visible without cluttering the main screen. The streamlined user interface presents core adjustments such as shutter speed, aperture, and ISO while keeping secondary settings in an optional menu.

Performance and Storage Capabilities

The camera supports 6K video recording at up to 29.97 fps and can store up to 2.5 hours of footage at the highest quality. Its built-in 230GB SSD can hold approximately 14,000 JPEGs or 4,300 RAW files. The BF’s hybrid autofocus system, incorporating phase and contrast detection, is enhanced by AI-driven subject recognition, allowing precise focus on humans, dogs, and cats.

Connectivity and Lens Compatibility

Designed for modern workflows, the Sigma BF includes a USB-C port for file transfers and charging. It is compatible with L-Mount lenses, a standard originally developed by Leica and now supported by Sigma and Panasonic. To complement the BF’s aesthetic, Sigma’s I Series prime lenses will be available in a matching silver finish.

Availability and Pricing

The Sigma BF will be available in black or silver for $1,999, with shipments expected in April 2025. The price does not include a lens, but the camera’s compatibility with the L-Mount ecosystem provides users with a wide selection of lens options.
