According to Transparency International Nepal, South Sudan has been ranked as the most corrupt country in the world. The organization released the “Corruption Perception Index” at a press conference on Tuesday.
South Sudan scored only 8 out of 100 points. According to Transparency International, a score of 100 indicates a very clean country, while 0 represents extreme corruption.
Among the 180 surveyed countries, Nepal ranked 107th on the corruption list, scoring 34 out of 100. Last year, Nepal had a score of 35. Transparency International stated that this result highlights the need for stronger efforts to combat corruption in Nepal.
